Stuff that can/will break when replacing vacuum lines?
I plan on replacing all my vacuum lines while I install my phenolic spacers, and was wondering what little pieces have plastic connectors that easily break?
I figured I can order them all and just return what I don't need. I assume the following from this diagram will break:
Can anyone confirm this? I know for a fact that 10 is very likely to break and is the most expensive of all as most threads I've found on this subject talk about that solenoid breaking. Also, part numbers would be very helpful as I cannot find a diagram of the underside of the intake manifold on SubaruParts.com or my local dealership catalog. Thanks in advance!

Re: Stuff that can/will break when replacing vacuum lines?
The iris valve is about all that breaks if done properly and carefully. Also, all of the parts will be special order and therefore non-returnable, or will be a 10-25% restocking fee depending on your local dealership.

Just a thought, I have had very good success fixing broken plastic things with Epoxy Putty, if you do break off a nipple you may want to give it try. This is the product that I have.

The thread (link below) that has all of the information has been made a sticky a little while ago to stay at the top of the "General SVX Babble" section of this forum. All part numbers with diagrams for US SVX cars from 1992-1997 can be found in these scans. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=60770 Also.. the attached jpg is a summary: Last edited by dbarnblatt; 01-20-2013 at 08:22 PM. |
